Full AP automation financial audit

A structured financial audit of your accounts payable automation application covering invoice capture, matching logic, approvals, payment release, and reconciliation to the general ledger.

Analyst reviewing financial charts and ledger extracts during an AP audit
Timeline: 4–7 weeks typical Fixed fee by invoice volume band On-site in Thailand or remote document review Engagement letter + written audit opinion

Who this is for

Finance directors, controllers, and internal audit leads who rely on an accounts payable automation application and need an independent view of whether invoice processing still protects the financial statements. Typical clients have completed a recent go-live, face a statutory audit query, or inherited an application whose configuration was never fully documented.

Result you receive

A written financial audit opinion focused on the AP automation application, a control findings schedule ranked by severity, and a management letter with concrete remediation steps. Findings reference sample invoices, configuration screenshots (with sensitive data redacted), and walkthrough notes from AP staff.

Scope included

  • Planning meeting to confirm the application name, modules in use, and the period under review
  • Walkthroughs of invoice capture, three-way (or two-way) match, exception queues, and payment proposal release
  • Sampling of invoices across high-value, rush, and recurring categories
  • Review of segregation of duties between vendor setup, invoice approval, and payment execution
  • Comparison of AP subledger totals to general ledger control accounts for the selected period
  • Closing meeting with the finance sponsor and delivery of the final report

Excluded

  • Statutory financial statement audit of the entity as a whole
  • Software development, configuration changes, or vendor negotiations
  • Fraud investigation beyond indicators observed during ordinary sampling
  • Tax opinion work

How we work

  1. Scoping call — confirm application, volume, locations, and deadline.
  2. Engagement letter — fee, access requirements, and confidentiality terms.
  3. Fieldwork — document requests, system observation sessions, and staff interviews.
  4. Reporting — draft findings for factual check, then final opinion and management letter.

Timeline & delivery

Most engagements complete in four to seven weeks from kickoff, depending on how quickly document access is granted. Work can be performed at your premises in Thailand or through secure document exchange with scheduled video walkthroughs. Our office base is in Patong, Phuket; Bangkok fieldwork is arranged regularly.

Preparation we ask of you

  • Read-only access or escorted observation of the AP automation application
  • Export of the vendor master (or agreed extract) and payment run listings for the period
  • Organisation chart for AP and treasury roles
  • Prior auditor comments related to accounts payable, if any

Pricing basis

Fees are quoted as a fixed engagement fee based on monthly invoice volume bands and number of legal entities in scope. See the rates page for guidance. A deposit is invoiced with the engagement letter; the balance is due on delivery of the final report.
